Crowns/Bridges

Crowns are recommended if a tooth has lost a lot of its tooth structure. Reasons include: 1) cavity is too large 2) tooth is broken or fractured, or 3) a tooth has a root canal. There are different types of crowns such as all porcelain, porcelain fused to metal, or full metal. Depending on the type of crown, the fee for each may vary.

Bridges are used to replace a missing tooth. The two teeth adjacent to the missing tooth are prepped like crowns, and the missing tooth is replaced by a pontic (fake tooth) connected to crowns on the adjacent teeth. This is a permanent restoration and cannot be taken in and out of the mouth.

The process of getting a crown involves many steps and at least two separate visits.
