Fillings

Composite is a tooth colored material used to fill teeth that have been damaged by decay or in some instances fractured. How much tooth structure is lost will determine if the tooth can be saved with a filling or if more invasive procedures are needed.

Many people have silver fillings, which is a material called amalgam. In our office, we do not offer amalgam fillings since they are less esthetic, and most people request the fillings to be a natural color.

Getting fillings done does not guarantee that you will never get cavities again. Make sure you are still performing great oral hygiene at home and that you are routinely coming in to get your check ups. Previous fillings can still get infected by bacteria!
