Extractions

There are several reasons why a tooth would need extraction. The reasons include: 1) severe decay 2) fractured tooth or root 3) severe gum problems 4) infection. More difficult extractions may be considered as surgical, and these typically involve manipulation or cutting of the gum tissue and cutting the tooth in order to remove it in pieces.

The most common extractions needed are for the wisdom teeth. Reasons why wisdom teeth will be recommended for removal include: 1) pain, 2) erupting in non-ideal position, 3) no space for eruption, 4) affecting the tooth in front of it, 5) developing decay.
